creating precision light and control

This ambitous dynamic light installation is driven by a special control that we developed with Dr Stephen Leary. The QEII Bridge is a fully operational railway bridge. The control streams the colour information from donated electronic images at the rate of change of the ebb and flow of the tide.
The bridge cannot show bright colours when a train is on it so a series of failsafe triggers instruct the control to desaturate the colour as a train enters the structure. The flowing movement of light is not interrupted by this change. All of the colour and flow sequences are calculated in real time because it is impossible to predict what colours the bridge will be showing at any given moment.
